The world's largest miniature railroad, Miniatur Wunderland in Hamburg, Germany, is a fascinating place to visit with its many details and scenes from different parts of the world. The exhibits are carefully detailed and often include special effects such as fire trucks putting out fires or skiers descending the Swiss mountain.

Absolutely amazing! Good for both kids and adults to visit. The level of detail required to create these structures must have taken countless hours. You can take all the time you need here to admire the intricacies. After you gain entry, head up to the top floor and start your journey! You'll be able to experience both day and night scenes which will be simulated periodically. More cities are in development so definitely visit again next time.

I had an unforgettable visit to Miniature Wunderland in Hamburg last weekend! This place offers a truly unique experience with meticulously detailed miniatures representing various cities worldwide, predominantly European ones. The highlight for me was the intricate train networks and the miniature airport with planes taking off and landing. It was a bit crowded, but the 20 euro adult ticket was worth every penny. The presence of miniature shops, a food court, and restroom facilities made the visit even more convenient. Miniature Wunderland is a must-see attraction for anyone in Hamburg!

This is a really awesome place, worth a visit of a long time.My only downside to this place, is the amount of people visiting at the same time.We were exhausted and hungry after 2,5 hours. But we could have spent double the time if we let ourselves dive into the details of each area.I would definitely recommend visiting Miniatur Wunderland!

Und viel Geld gewinnen :)(Translated by Google)We are very impressed. With great love, but also with humor! And the fact that day turns into night every 15 minutes in the museum is absolutely fantastic!!! We will be back definitely! It's a masterpiece!!!!!!! The best thing I have seen in my life!!!!! When you look at the individual installations your heart freezes. A guidebook will be issued before the tour. You can guess the word. And win a lot of money :)

Thoroughly enjoyed. Well worth the 20 euro entry. It wasn’t ever too busy and there’s so much to see that wherever there is a gap on the railing you have enough to see for a few minutes. Incredible detail

This is the reason I went to Hamburg, and it did NOT disappoint. It was one of the coolest, most unique places I've ever been to! I was blown away by the attention-to-detail in literally every exhibit. Every exhibit constantly changes too, with night/day cycles and special lighting at "dawn" and "dusk". I spent hours here, and I probably could have been there the entire day! There are countless interactive buttons you can push, which make special things happen on the exhibits. One of my favourite exhibits was the airport, with miniature planes continually taking off and landing... it's just amazing! Children and adults alike will find their imaginations running wild here; it's unbelievably cool! There are also food options and lots of cool souvenirs and gift items available. I bought a ticket ahead of time and went straight in when I arrived, without any wait. It's truly an unbelievable place, I recommend it wholeheartedly!

Jared B — Google review

This place is truly a marvel, even if you're not a model making fan.All the models are crafted with exceptional detail and they're full of buttons for the whole visiting experience to turn from passive to interactive at will.On the other side, the place feels very touristy, with souvenir shops packed with unrelated stuff, and a "restaurant" too. Too much people can ruin your experience, and a Saturday evening would not be the perfect day to be there.

Mattia — Google review

Such an extraordinary experience! I'm amazed 👏🏻. Every detail, every city, everything is just perfect. I was not expecting so much from this place and was absolutely positively surprised. Great job! Honestly, I think adults enjoy more than kids, as we can appreciate more the details... but it is a nice place for all ages. It is a must in Hamburg for sure! Better to buy the tickets in advance.

Renata V — Google review

Just wow !!! It's an amazing museum. So much to see and be amazed. We spent around 4 hours seeing all the models. The best was the airport and airplane model. It's wonderful place to get kids and even the old ones enjoy the museum. There are many different models. Buying tickets in advance is highly recommended. There is a restaurant as well in the museum. Breakfast and lunch options were good. I recommend booking tickets for the morning slot so that you have enough time to explore the whole museum.

Spent 3,5 hours in the museum and planning to go again. Super interesting, there are many cute and funny episodes. At the evening there were very many people.Highly recommend to take a camera with good zoom.

Dmitrii B — Google review

Parking is very restrictive in this area so you are better parking away and walking to the place. The cafe served really nice food and all the staff were polite. The models themselves were very impressive especially with how they interlink. The railway control room is also very impressive.

Cost 20.50 for an adult ticket.A great place to spend a couple of hours. Be amazed by the displays. There is a simulation of day and night views of all the displays. The airport seems to be the most popular. I had a wonderful visit. There is a canteen within the museum. So one can rest and have a bite before continuing.

Nice spot. It took us around 2 hours to see the whole thing. The cost is 20 euro per person, which is interesting to see but, in my opinion, not a must. We went on Sunday, and it was packed it was hard to get near to the expositions to look closely

Auf jeden Fall ein Besuch wert.(Translated by Google)We were in Hamburg at the weekend and my husband had wanted to go to Wonderland for years. That's why we ordered tickets online a few months before our visit. That went absolutely smoothly. We were there quite early (08:00-08:30 entry period) and didn't have to wait. In total we were there for a little over 5 hours. And what can I say: it was fantastic. The details were incredible and the work that went into it must be immense. There is so much love in the detail - we were and are thrilled. There were four of us in total. My husband, our daughter (6 years old), my mother and I. So I can rightly say that Wonderland is something for young and old. We also ate there and it was very tasty, the portions were very generous and the price was absolutely right. Definitely worth a visit.

Recommend this place a lot. Make sure you have time to explore, because there's so much to see. We spend about 5 hours exploring everything. I would recommend buying tickets in advance otherwise you'll be waiting in line for quite some time. Food is decent and there's enough choice.

I had high expectations.Thought the models would be larger. They are h0 scale, so 1:87The models and figures are mind blowing. The detailed models of structures and landscapes around the world are magnificent. By gazing at the tremendous level of detail one gets a true sense of the scale of human activity on earth. The scale and vastness of our environmental impact. One could spend all day there.Amazzzing.Will definitely go back.

Dorian H — Google review

Absolutely astonishing, there’s a million adjectives I could say about this place and I can’t seem to find a word for this masterpiece. The first sections were gorgeous the rooms are air-conditioned and that but also the details of every single man in the huge miniature model of Hamburg,Switzerland,Austria and the alps is living. I can visually guess that about 89 percent of all models is movable. Every aspect of the model including underground and above in the sky is shown in full detail. The posters for example are always made in local languages going with the theme. The most outstanding part for me was the airport (since I am a huge avgeek myself) the details as I can see is stringent to a almost horrible level. The airplanes are just so lively as if they were real. Almost every model plane can taxi by itself and a lot of them can even takeoff and land by them self even with features such as gear-tilt included. There’s also the airbus beluga, Junker 52, Boeing 777-300 ER etc.I would say that the this place is really really really worth your visit because you can feel the heart of the builders, you can feel that they build for the fun, not for the money! Please, if you every happened to read this. Go to Hamburg and visit this place. Bucket-list worthy!

Every time I am in Hamburg I visit this place, and it never fails to impress me. There are always some new details I get go notice, or completely new set-ups to explore (like South America this time, Monaco is now work in progress). Make sure to buy the ticket in advance and there is almost no waiting time. Also, make sure to devote enough time, as you can easily spend here whole day! ✨

Aleksandra P — Google review

Great museum! We spent over 5 hours on our visit, and it felt short. The model trains, cars, boats, and airplanes are all fantastic, and the attention to detail is second to none. All the little easter eggs are fun to find! Highly recommend!

P G — Google review

It’s beautiful, it’s mesmerizing, you’d have to spend at least two full days there to discover most of the little details. I’ve been here at least 8 times, and I keep finding new things every single time. However, the place is always completely filled with people, no matter what day it is. I HIGHLY recommend purchasing your tickets online at least one week before, to have a chance at getting in at a normal time. Unless of course you want to stand in a queue for 5 hours, not gonna judge that.

TheKingofTerrorZ — Google review

Amazing 🤩 has been on my bucket list for many many years, I did 2 back stage tours. In total I spent about 10 hours here! And I'm sure there were lots of little details I still didn't see. The food in the diner is very reasonably priced and is large servings!Overall very satisfied. This place is amazing.

Andrew T — Google review

Such an AMAZING place! They even had a control center. Was so mesmerized by the amount of detail they put in all the cities. The airport with all the planes taking off and everything else happening there made it feel like it was connected to a real airport. The historic dioramas were really interesting too - being able to see how things changed over time. Definitely had a great time here and will be back again next time.

We went here as a family and had a very enjoyable time. I recommend you schedule a whole day here. We spent 5 hours here. There are plenty of different countries on view including Germany,Italy, America and Switzerland. If you look closely there are many hidden jokes like the millennium falcon at the airport and Batman and Robin scaling one of the buildings. We also did the virtual reality part of the tour which was amazing. You can also have a 3D picture taken which you can have as a plastic figure. Loved it.

A morning or an afternoon is almost not enough.

Visited on 6th June, 2024. Been on the bucket list for a while and finally made it. Lots of people have posted pics, but some of the the ones I have posted are from the behind the scenes tours. Two big tips: One: Go early, no queue, less people there, your ticket is for the whole day, you might as well make the most of it.Two: Do a least one of the behind the scenes tours. It gives you a better idea of the work that has gone into this endeavour. They are available in English and German. Also, if you have a partner who is not so much into model trains, tell them that it is it is not so much about model railways, but complete miniature worlds. Honestly the the level of detail and all of the little scenes are all really well done. You won't need to leave for lunch either, as they have a cafeteria and the seats are from real railway carriages. The first three photos are from the behind scenes tours. The last three are to give you an idea of the detail involved. Initially you see a mountain holiday retreat, but when you look more closely you will see a man standing at a table, with cakes on the table, and a lady lying down reading a book.

Steamtrain P — Google review

One of the most amazing miniature worlds that I have visited. Have been to other such places in south east asian countries which are also very good, but this was on another level. The attention to detail in every miniature is just awesome. Also did their virtual reality tour which was also just a wonderful experience. Highly suggest to visit this place on your trip to Hamburg, totally loved the overall experience. Do book the tickets in advance (online).

Amazing. The level of detail and amount of work that goes into running this place is unbelievable. Great job. Also, even a day is not long enough to see everything. We were there for 4 hours and only left because the kids were getting tired. They loved it as much as we did - wish we had time to go back!

Pamela G — Google review

We started exploring at 8 a.m., and we were there until after 5 p.m!It's a totally different experience compared to anything else, and if you have a passion for details and digging into them, you're gonna love it!Suggestions for the best experience:1. Charged Phones2. Bottle of Water3. Eat good breakfast, so you're full for the day4. Wear comfortable shoes5. Bring some nuts with you so you don't have to waste for lunch6. Take your glasses if you have trouble seeing tint things in distance :)7. Patience and passion ❤️

Completely, totally and utterly brilliant in every way. Spent over 6 hours there and only saw one of the two main floors. Exceptionally good value. Excellent proper food in the bistro - lots of seats and sockets to recharge phones etc. Again, great value. All facilities excellent. The whole place is just superb - can't fault it in any way. Best to book ahead - and try to go as early as possible.

The moment you enter in, you will be taken into a different world.Everything is taken minute care to represent the real world in miniatures. The people, moving restless trains of different types, the passengers inside the train, huge stadium and the spectators, Swiss alps, formula 1 track of Monaco, the busiest airport takeoffs and the sincere ground staff in vehicles, the urban apartments to country houses with cool parties, arenas of Rome……So lively….It will take day if you have time and minimum three hours to watch. It’s great that, they are coming up with new themes and expanding. It’s a kids world and every adult is a kid there.

Wonder unbelievable trains by country museum. Easy to spend hours to see everything. The airport and planes landing amd takeoff were the most impressive for me. Should buy tickets in advance. If you come day of expect to wait 1 to 3 hours before entering.

Daniel T — Google review

Not just a model railway, although that is a part of it. There is a huge amount of geeky joke details to be spotted if you have the patience. It wasn't particularly crowded and on a very hot day thecaircon was welcome. Special note, the cafe is very reasonable but only accessible once you are past the ticket barrier! I imagine on a wet Saturday it could be very busy. Precooked tickets are in timed slots, so there is no waiting time.

Kristian G — Google review

I like a model railway but this is so much more. Pick one point a few metres away and marvel at the detail, then move closer and realise there is more detail, still closer, and you see something you hadn't noticed before. It is immense, and all of it is amazingly detailed, with little stories being told in small corners. I was there a few hours, and I've probably missed half of it. My wife was interested too and she wouldn't normally go near something like this but it won her over.If you need to stay longer, no worries, there is a cafe too.We were on a cruise that stopped in Kiel, got the train to Hamburg, 36euro family day ticket, paid online to get an entry time.Amazing, brilliant, fantastic, wonderland, I'll be back!

They were tastefully done displays that were pleasing to all. I could spend hours here because of the incredibly lifelike figures and activities. Before returning to the exhibit, you can rest your feet and take a break at one of the restaurants. Strongly advised.

Great experience!! Wish we had known how big and nice it was, we would have given ourselves more time. We arrive 23:30, since those were the only tickets available. Pls book well in advance to get a better time! Even at 23:30 it was still amazing. Just wish we had more time, there was so much to see and do. They had buttons for many of the things where something would happen. Also the light changes in intervals from daylight to nighttime and some of the buttons only work in nighttime. Super cool! If ever we’re in Hamburg again, we would definitely go for either half a day or the whole day.

It's a brilliant place to visit. Everything is done with so much love for detail and there are so many things to see.I suggest booking in advance and going early or late to avoid bog crowds. You can easily spend many hours there. The only thing I did not enjoy was their shop, since a lot of the stuff they sell does not really match the place itself.

Svenia N — Google review

Super cool! you could spend the whole day here and still not have seen everything. The staff are very friendly and the bistro is a nice place to rest. You can tell a lot of hard work and creativity went into the design of all the exhibits and there are hidden gems everywhere, including trains running right below your feet!

Absolutely brilliant day out. We got the 7:30am entrance and ended up staying for 8 hours! Loads of stuff to see - it just kept going. Not very crowded when we went (a Monday during term time) so no problem seeing everything. Even the food was great. Lots of choice, reasonable prices and comfy seats taken out of old trains.

Fabulous place to visit! Image a warehouse FULL of train sets, over multiple floors and now add cars, trucks, planes, not only trains. Amazing! There’s a “night time” every 15 minutes or so where all the lights go down it looks stunning. The level of detail here is unreal, so many hours have gone into creating this. The gift shop is also very good, which is a nice change from most tourist attractions.

C J — Google review

A must see when in Hamburg, completely worth it.I recommend you buy tickets 2 days in advance to avoid the waiting queue which can be even 2h long.It was kind of crowded however we managed to go trough it all, make sure you grab a map at the entrance. They have a setup where it turns to "night time" and some of the exhibits look better during that short time window. The airport exhibit was my favorite so pay attention to the landing and take off screen if you are looking for a particular model to see it in action.Make sure to visit the souvenir shop before you exit as they always have discounts on models. The entire visit may take arround 3h, even more.

Emanuel F — Google review

Simply amazing! Was a fun experience. The amount of details is crazy. Also, the whole exhibition is interactive so you’ll get engaged as soon as you start your visit. I’d recommend getting the tickets beforehand because the place gets crowded. It has interesting exhibitions already but they’ll add more soon and I bet it’ll be just as great. You can easily spend 3 hours there. And you’ll enjoy it! They offer guided tours so you can see everything from a different perspective.

Magical place, even for someone who isn't into miniatures and train models. I've taken about 300-400, pictures/videos of this museum alone. Highly recommend allocating about 3h+ for this museum. A really good venue if you are interested in miniture models! We were fascinated by the detail & the work gone into the huge amount of things to see on display. There is a restaurant, toilets & disabled facilities. Parking is limited and you have to pay.I would recommend buying a ticket in advance & calling to arrange your time slot. We arrived in the school summer holidays, so it was bound to be busy. We arrived late in the morning, buying tickets on the day & had to take a late afternoon timeslot for entry. There is too much to see for entry so late. You are on your feet for a while but you can take breaks in the canteen or limited seating areas. Worth a visit when in Hamburg.

I would have liked to stay longer but decided to head home for food as tickets were in a decently late slot.If you plan to go here you should book a few days or weeks in advance. The place was quite huge and so detail! Great place to go for diorama fans & those with children, you could truly spend hours here. My family and I spent about 4 hours, including shopping time. The only flaw was it was charged €0.50 for cloakroom per item (we didn’t use this) and there were no info about the locker room which was free. But overall was enjoyable and could be considered when you plan to visit Hamburg.

It's amazing to see the work of engineers who crafted these wonderful creations. You can easily spend half a day exploring all the displays. The entry fee is very reasonable considering the experience it offers. I highly recommend visiting this place—it's a must-see attraction in Hamburg!

Such a unique place, there are a lot of sized down places like Hamburg, Italy, Switzerland, airport and more. All of these exhibits are made with incredible precision as well as they all feel alive. You can be surprised how many events and interactions you can see happening between cars, planes, buildings etc. (without spoiling anything ;) )You can see everything in about 2 hours, but if you really want to take pictures, see how these "worlds" behave, it can easily take over 3 hours.Go check it out, if you don't know what to do in Hamburg, it is a must 😁

Incredible place with extremely detailed models. The are some awesome experiences there too, like shrink into wonderland were you where a VR headset and you can pretend your in the models. There is a cafeteria with decent food especially for a museum. The gift shop is quite nice and reasonably priced. I would recommend buying tickets in advance as buying at the museum can take awhile, it is conveniently located in the center of Hamburg. The airport and trains are just beautiful, if you took a zoomed in picture someone would have no idea it was a model. Even the hall between sections has some lovely miniature landscapes, and a great view.

We had a wonderful time. There are multiple displays with extensive attention to detail. The airport, Swiss, Hamburg, Italian, Brazilian and Antarctica are a few that stood out for us. Every exhibit had a day and night view. It's a treat to watch the airplanes take off and land. There is a display which shows which planes are going to be next in the queue. Kids enjoyed watching the Millennium Falcon and the Concorde. There are chairs to rest occasionally and continue through the exhibits. A good cafe for a break and restrooms on every floor. The VR experience is wonderful and definitely recommend it. Also, when you purchase a ticket for any of the experiences, the entry time to the exhibition area is not fixed. You can enter all day.Access: Disabled friendly and has elevatorTickets: Definitely recommend pre-bookingCrowd: visit on a weekday afternoon- initially it was less crowded and got busy towards the eveningTime needed: Need at least 4-5hrs to see all the exhibits in detail. Shortlist the ones you definitely want to see.

It was like a miracle. I even couldn’t expect that it’s possible. Exhibition consists of a lot locations of the world in miniature. Also, various jobs and actions are represented by models that motions when you push the button. We all were impressed by tiny details took in account for each model. There is even represented: railway station and airport, Monaco racing and many and many other things. I definitely recommend this place as must visiting in Hamburg.I recommend buying ticket in advance because there are quite a lot people in any time of day. There is a cafe but you can take your own picnic in.The displays are amazing, the details are outstanding. The amazing us so impressive, the grand prix Iin Monaco, the sounds are as authentic as the models. It's a hut strange at first that the lights start to dim for an evening effect . The lights in the apartment buildings go on as do the street light. Then night falls and the lights go off. Gradually dawn breaks and apartment lights go on again. It was very interesting to see the teams working on new designs
