Meeting with Midori again and finding out that she actually managed to fix things with Yuichi just one day after that incident was the first strike, Mama belittling his inner conflict was the second, and Papa talking to him about baseball and space like he has no other responsibilities for his son was the third and final strike. He's out but he'd managed to make a home run with Midori's little Daruma keychain.

This is really sad. The adults are taking away his innocence and breaking him. It is a good contrast with Seki that happiness is relative. How can you be happy when you are surrounded with these people?

It seems prior events have broken Midori beyond repair. She appears as a cold bitch now, not a trace of her prior kind & somewhat optimistic personality. If she's serious about keeping Yuichi on a short leash from now on, I wouldn't be surprised if at some point he snaps back at her.

I swear to God, Punpun is a ticking bomb that will explode sooner or later. He has really dangerous intrusive thoughts, and us progressively seeing them get worse is honestly amazing to see (in terms of being great writing!)

And unfortunately Punpun is experiencing it way earlier than he should. With the way all of his "grown-up" figures have acted and taken advantage of or abandoned him... I would hate the world and everyone in it too.
I'm not certain where the story goes from here, but I have a feeling he is getting back with deranged Aiko, cause at this point she is the only one who he feels some intimacy with (as screwed up as it is).

I can’t stand PunPun’s mom!!! why are so many of the adults in this story so messed up? I feel awful for PunPun, especially since he has to endure such a toxic environment.
